European Coordination Committee on Human Rights Documentation

31th meeting, Vienna, Austria - October 21-22, 2010




Dear friends and colleagues,

We have the pleasure of inviting you to participate in the 31st meeting of the European Coordination Committee on Human Rights Documentation (ECCHRD). This meeting brings together persons working on documentation, information and communication within human rights organisations and institutions.

The Fundamental Rights Agency of the European Union has kindly agreed to host this meeting, and it will take place in Vienna on 21 and 22 October.

Programme
The meeting will start on Thursday 21 October at 9h30 and end on Friday 22 October by 16h30. The agenda will include the following topics:
Managing and sharing information about human rights cases: case law browsers
Sharing human rights terminologies: an online thesauri builder
Creating on-line human rights libraries: sharing of experiences
New ways to explore and present human rights archives
The ECCHRD meeting is an excellent opportunity to present your work and projects, and find out what your colleagues are working on. There will be space for short presentations and also a Market place to present projects, tools and publications. There is also time for informal discussions and networking.

Accommodation
The local organisers are going to book a number of rooms in some hotels close to the Fundamental Rights Agency. A more detailed list of hotels and prices will be distributed to the registered participants at a later stage. For registration please indicate whether the agency shall take care for a hotel registration and what is the maximum amount per day you are able to spent.

Registration
You can register for the meeting by filling out the online registration form. Please register as soon as possible. The deadline for registrations is Monday 13 September 2010.

Please note that all costs related to travel and hotel have to be borne by the participants themselves. No funding is available from the Secretariat or the local organisers. There is no registration fee.

Additional practical details about the venue, as well as the final agenda and the list of participants will be sent to those who have registered in the course of September. The most recent information will also be available on the at ECCHRD website.
